Chris Angus – Trainee - History, Durham.
Chris is a trainee in our International Capital Markets (ICM) department. He joined Allen & Overy in March 2006 after completing a vacation placement with us in the summer of his penultimate year of a History degree. Although still new to Allen & Overy, Chris has already been involved in a range of exciting Capital Markets work such as, listing issues with the UK Listing Authority and London Stock Exchange, reviewing trades for investment banks, personally redrafting a swap agreement to remove a party from it and dealing with in-house counsel at Citigroup.
 
 

Pearlie Kee – Trainee - Law, LSE.
Pearlie is a trainee in our Projects group. She joined Allen & Overy in September 2005, 2 years after completing a vacation placement with us during her Law degree. Pearlie also has experience in Corporate, ICM and Litigation and is looking forward to spending six months in one of our international offices from September 2006.
Pearlie has been involved in a number of high profile transactions and cases, from advising some of the world's largest banks and corporations to working with local counsel on 3 Jamaican death row cases.
 
 

 

David Johnson – Associate - Physiology, Bristol.
David joined Allen & Overy as a trainee in 2001 (having previously worked for Astra Zeneca Plc) and qualified in to the Corporate department in 2003 . Since qualifying David has been seconded to Goldman Sachs in London and also spent seven months in our New York office.
Recent transactions that David has been involved in include advising the Malcolm Glazer family takeover of Manchester United plc and the merger of Boots plc with Alliance Unichem plc to become "Alliance Boots".
 
   

Susan Hazledine – Partner - Law, Oxford.
Susan joined Allen & Overy as a trainee and became a partner in the Litigation department in 1999 and Graduate Recruitment partner in 2004.

Susan's experience includes general contractual disputes, complex business reconstruction and insolvency claims. Susan also spent three years working in our Hong Kong office.

 
   

Ian Powell – Partner - Law with French, Birmingham.
Ian is a Banking partner in our Global Loans group. Since becoming a partner in 2000, he has spent a number of years in our Amsterdam and Frankfurt offices before returning to London in 2005.

Ian has international experience of a wide range of banking transactions, including large-scale corporate syndicated facilities, trade finance and European leveraged acquisition transactions (acting both for banks and borrowers). Ian has also recently joined the partnership Board.
